The ideal candidate will creatively collaborate with support staff to design engaging learning experiences that promote student growth, achievement, and real-world preparation. Putnam facilitates strong district-wide alignment and support across all three schools in the district to ensure the student's educational experience prepares them for the real world. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: IEP Implementation:Design, implement, and track individualized education plans tailored to student needs and abilities.Assessment & Data:Administer diagnostic assessments to guide differentiated instruction and measure progress.Behavioral Support: Utilize proactive de-escalation techniques and foster a safe, supportive classroom culture focused on positive behavior.Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, paraeducators, and families. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Certification: Valid CT Certification in Comprehensive Special Education (165, 065, or 265), or eligibility for certification. Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of elementary specialized instruction, de-escalation strategies, classroom management, and IEP management.
