Special Education Van Driver for Student Services/Aide

DeForest Area School District is located just ten miles northeast of Madison in Dane County. We offer outstanding facilities and a competitive salary and benefits package. This is a school year position working part time, schedule to be determined, tentatively 7:00 - 9:00 am and 2:00 - 4:00 pm. This position is responsible for transporting students to and from school, or to and from other educational programs, as required by laws pertaining to students with disabilities or other student needs. The drivers must have a safe driving record and will utilize district-owned passenger vans.

This position could be part time if applicant would only want to act as the driver, if more hours were desired, applicant would work as a Special Education Assistant at DAHS when not transporting students.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

Transporting students.

Driving in a courteous and safe manner and maintaining appropriate records.

Maintaining a positive working relationship with those who utilize the transportation service.

Communicating effectively and professionally with students, families, and staff.

Applying rules of confidentiality with all student information and professional matters.
