The Opportunity:

Our continued growth and success has created the need for a Special Hazards Technician. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and limited troubleshooting on a variety of clean agent and special hazard suppression systems.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will: 

  • Install, inspect, test, and maintain special hazard fire suppression systems, including but not limited to:
    • Clean agent systems (e.g., FM-200, Novec 1230)
    • CO systems
    • Foam suppression systems
    • Water mist systems
    • Explosion suppression or detection systems
  • Verify proper system operation through functional and acceptance testing.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot system issues or deficiencies.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 2001, 12, 750), local regulations, and company standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other trades on-site to support successful project execution.
  • Document inspections, maintenance, and service activities in accordance with company and client requirements.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • High school diploma or GED required, with technical or industry related experience preferred
  • Prior experience with FM-200, Inergen, CO, NOVEC 1230, or other clean agent systems
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and general fire protection standards
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and system drawings
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for use with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights of 30 feet or more
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within your assigned territory
  • Experience operating lifts and an understanding of OSHA safety practices
  • Professional, team-oriented mindset and a consistent focus on doing the job safely and correctly

What Makes You Stand Out

  • You have Three or more years of experience inspecting, servicing, or repairing fire suppression systems.
  • You have NICET certification (Level I or higher) in Special Hazards.
  • You have experience handling both routine inspections and more complex repair work.
  • You are known for catching issues early, explaining them clearly to customers, and following through until they are fixed.
