It also includes registration of specimens, ordering lab tests, specimen labeling, monitoring computer reports and other administrative duties as assigned.

- Performs specimen processing by identifying, sorting, aliquoting, centrifuging, and labeling biological samples.
- Performs semi-technical procedures such as calculating weight, measuring samples, and recording data.
- Operates laboratory computers to enter and retrieve lab data.
- Performs account registration and orders tests in the applicable system.
- Answers telephone inquiries, conducting analytical problem solving. Faxes results, fields specimen handling questions, dispatches couriers, and performs other administrative support and lab-related customer service duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities- Job is a non-management position that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Qualifications- Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience - No previous experience required. Six (6) months experience in healthcare environment involving computer skills preferred.
