Position Description
STEM School Highlands Ranch is seeking a full-time SPED Educational Assistant to provide dedicated one-on-one support to a student. This position is scheduled for up to 40 hours per week throughout the school year. The employee will work collaboratively with teachers, student-support staff, and school leadership to support the student’s academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, compassionate individual support to ensure student safety and engagement throughout the school day
Provide proactive behavioral support during classroom activities, transitions, and less-structured or unscheduled times, including arrival, dismissal, passing periods, lunch, recess, and other common-area activities
Implement the student’s individualized behavior and safety plans with consistency and fidelity, as directed by the student-support team
Collect and maintain accurate documentation related to behavior, interventions, transitions, and student progress
Support the student’s participation in classroom activities, transitions, and common areas
Collaborate with teachers, student support teams, and administrators
Follow school policies, confidentiality standards, and directions from staff
Perform other tasks as assigned to support school operations
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Strong commitment to student learning and development
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Responsive and proactive communication with students and faculty
Experience working in a diverse, fast-paced, and collaborative environment preferred
