Position Summary

The Speech and Language Pathologist K-12 supports the vision and mission of the Genesee Intermediate School District by serving in the capacity to meet the developmental needs of children, through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework; by using a coaching model with strategies to help students develop new skills to share with parents, caregivers, and educational team members; and by demonstrating an understanding of the development of language and communication skills in students and coaching classroom staff in strategies an activities to improve language and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required or valid Michigan teacher's certificate with full approval in Speech and Language Impaired required
  • Valid State of Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license required or Educational Limited License with eligibility to obtain full licensure upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required
  • Must meet all state and federal requirements for practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required licensure and certifications throughout employment
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standards in accordance with district, state, and ASHA guidelines

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $47,496 - $92,683

Work Schedule: 186 Days, 7 Hours

Paid Time Off:

  • Sick and Personal Business paid time, up to 13 days
  • Bereavement Leave
