Overview:

The

Speech

Language

Pathology

Assistant

(SLP-A)

is

responsible

for

supporting

the

delivery

of

speech

and

language

services

under

the

direct

supervision

of

a

licensed

Speech

Pathologist.

The

SLP-A

will

assist

students

in

developing

communication

skills

and

support

academic

success

through

specialized

therapeutic

support.

Key

Duties:

Implement

speech

and

language

therapy

activities

under

the

supervision

of

a

licensed

SLP

Basic

knowledge

of

augmentative

communication

Support

students

in

developing

communication,

articulation,

and

language

skills

aligned

with

individualized

Education

Goals

Collect

and

document

student

progress

toward

IEP

goals

and

objectives

Prepare

and

organize

therapy

materials

and

resources

Collaborate

with

the

supervising

SLP

and

educational

team

members

Maintain

accurate

service

logs

and

Medicaid

billing

documentation

in

compliance

with

regulatory

requirements

Qualifications:

Illinois

licensure

as

a

Speech

Language

Pathology

Assistant

(SLP-A)

through

the

Illinois

Department

of

Financial

and

Professional

Regulation

Knowledge

of

IEP

development

and

implementation

Strong

collaboration

and

communication

skills

Demonstrated

ability

to

collaborate

effectively

with

diverse

educational

teams

Commitment

to

supporting

students

with

diverse

communication

needs
