Job Summary

Longhorn Village is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide patient-centered care in our in-house subacute rehabilitation setting in Austin, Texas.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing services to help patients improve their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.

We offer flexible per diem scheduling with opportunities for weekday and weekend coverage based on facility needs and candidate availability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech-language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
• Provide therapy services to address communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
• Complete evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and recommendations.
• Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, professional standards, and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license or other authorization to practice as required by Texas regulations.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, with other qualifications considered as permitted by applicable requirements.
• Experience in subacute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, individualized patient care.

Schedule and Availability

• Per diem / PRN position.
• Weekday and weekend availability needed.
• Flexible scheduling based on facility coverage needs and candidate availability.
