Preference that the applicant also holds Certificate of Clinical Competence CCC-SLP from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.REPORTS TO Special Education Director andor Assistant Superintendent for Support ServicesTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT200 daysESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSQUALIFICATIONSApplicants must be licensed by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Applicants must possess proper skills in order to prevent assess diagnose and treat speech-language disorders in school-aged children. Additionally applicants must present with adequate written and oral communication skills have ability to work effectively with school personnel students and parents possess effective leadership skills and demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based practices in the field of speech-language pathology.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Conduct speech-language screenings for identification of needEvaluate and diagnose speech-language disorders having an adverse educational impact on student performanceProvide support in the general education environment through Response to Intervention RTITreat identified speech-language disorders via current evidence-based practicesData collection and analysis via maintenance of accurate complete and correct documentation as required by law district policy andor administrative regulation for caseload management e.g. Medicaid Special EducationProvide training and education to familycaregivers and other professionalsWork collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams that make decisions regarding evaluation eligibility and servicesAbide by state statutes school board policies and regulationsAttend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisorsTake all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilitiesPLEASE NOTEPittsylvania County Schools reserves the right to fill positions pursuant to School Board Policy GBN Staff Hiring Procedures.
