    Job Description

    The Speech-Language Pathologist at Shriners Hospitals for Children provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to pediatric patients with communication, feeding, and swallowing disorders, contributing to their overall rehabilitation and quality of life.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Upon receiving a licensed independent practitioner referral, implements a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing a comprehensive, patient and family-centered approach to decision making incorporating national standards and the AMA CPT codes.

    • SLP will design, develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address presenting symptoms or concerns of a communication and/or swallowing problem or related functional issue to optimize function.

    • Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, their families, care management, and community resources such This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. as schools/outside therapy clinics, and actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings.

    • Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate thorough documentation.


    Required Qualifications

    • Masters degree in Speech Pathology

    • Licensed in state of practice

    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 1 year experience in a pediatric setting

    • Bilingual English/Spanish

    Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
