Speech Therapist—Pediatrics

Per Diem

 

               If you are looking to make a difference in the lives and families that we serve, we are looking for a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our skilled workforce in our Ft. Lauderdale location. Sunshine Kidz Pediatric Care is a licensed PPEC (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center) for children from birth to age 21. Under our medical director, our pediatric registered nurses follow an individualized plan of care developed in coordination with each child’s physician and family. This allows our nurses and therapists to provide skilled care and environmental stimulation with other kids.
We provide a unique therapy program tailored to each child. Our goal is for each child to achieve as much function and independence as possible. We do this through physical, speech and occupational therapies. At each step, education is an integral part of the formula for success to ensure cognitive growth.

 

The Speech Language Job Responsibilities:

·       Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' functional abilities and needs

·       Develop and implement treatment plans based on client goals and needs

·       Provide therapy sessions to help clients improve their skills

·       Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment

·       Document clients' progress and outcomes using electronic medical records

·       Stay up-to-date with current research and evidence-based practices in speech therapy

·       Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve skills

·       Other duties as assigned

 

Qualified applicants will have the following:

  • Master's degree in Speech Therapy
  • Current state license as an Speech Therapist
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based practices and ability to apply them in practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
