Job Description

We Are Hiring:

Location: Austin, Texas

Facility Name: Ascension Seton Medical Center, Dell Children's Medical Center, and Texas Spine and Scoliosis Center Clinic 

Schedule: Full-Time; Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

Incentives:

  • $3500 CME allowance + 5 dedicated CME days
  • Malpractice coverage with tail
What You Will Do:

As a PA or NP in Spine Surgery, you will work closely with the surgeons to evaluate pre-operative and post-operative spine surgery patients in the clinic and the hospital, as well as first assist in the operating room. 

 

  • Join an established team of 5 surgeons and 10 APPs
  • Call structure: 1/8 weekend call requirement with call pay
  • Practice setting: mix of both inpatient and outpatient
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
  • Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred.
Additional Preferences:

Acute Care Certification preferred and RNFA required for all NP applicants.
