Job Title: SQL Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain database solutions that support business applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server, database design, query optimization, and data integration. They will work closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable data management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases and database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for application and reporting needs.

• Analyze and improve database performance through query tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.

• Develop and maintain ETL processes for data migration and integration.

• Ensure data integrity, security, and consistency across databases.

• Collaborate with application developers to design efficient database solutions.

• Monitor database health and resolve performance bottlenecks.

• Support production deployments and troubleshoot database-related issues.

• Create and maintain database documentation, including schemas and data dictionaries.

• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Participate in code reviews and follow database development best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server.

• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, joins, CTEs, subqueries, and window functions.

• Experience with Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, and Indexes.

• Strong understanding of database normalization and relational database design.

• Experience in query optimization and performance tuning.

• Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other ETL tools.

• Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

• Experience with database backup, recovery, and maintenance.

• Understanding of transaction management and concurrency.

• Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 2 6 years of experience as a SQL Developer or Database Developer.

• Experience with Azure SQL Database or cloud-based database services.

• Familiarity with reporting tools such as SSRS or Power BI.

• Knowledge of database security and access control.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• SQL Server Agent job scheduling

• Database partitioning and indexing strategies

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)

• Python or PowerShell for database automation

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Experience

• 2 6 years of experience in SQL development and database management.
