IT Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. They will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, responding to outages, and creating application system models. IT Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications and will participate in evaluating, conducting performance testing, and all planned and unplanned maintenance for both internally developed applications and purchased products. They participate in design meetings, consult with clients to refine, test, and debug programs to meet business needs, and interact with and sometimes direct third-party partners in the achievement of business and technology initiatives. IT Developers are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the application and data processed or output by the application.

As a SQL Server Developer, you will be a key member of the Database Group responsible for providing overall database support with a concentration in back-end programming. You will be responsible for properly maintaining source code sets and necessary technical documentation and will assist the DBAs in overall database maintenance. In this role, you'll leverage your knowledge of SQL Server database development and be instrumental in the successful implementation of our browser-based, enterprise software product.

Essential Functions

• Work as part of the SQL Development team designing schemas, tables, views, indexed views, and developing stored procedures
• Create complex queries, SSIS jobs, and SSRS / Power BI reports
• Apply the latest T-SQL language features; experience working with large volumes of data

Qualifications

• Expert programming and troubleshooting skills
• Expert performance tuning and dynamic SQL skills
• Strong experience with SQL Server functions, procedures, triggers, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Experience with complex indexing strategies, including columnstore indexing
• Must be willing to jump into anyone's code at any time to solve the problem
• Must be able to reverse engineer another developer's code and modify it to solve the problem more efficiently
• Ensure database programs comply with V3 standards
• Performance tune SQL queries, application programs, and instances
• Application programming experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC 5, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery
• Demonstrated knowledge of XML and web services
• Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol, and change management procedures
• Proficiency with versioning tools like Git
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle
• Proficiency in more than one object-oriented programming language
• Proficiency with standard desktop applications (MS Suite) and flow-charting tools such as Visio
• Proficiency with debugging tools
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with business objectives and strategy
• Experience mentoring or leading other development staff
• Proven leadership abilities, including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness, and appropriate assertiveness
• 24x7 production support experience at large scale

Required Work Experience
5+ years related work experience; professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry

Required Education
Related Bachelor's degree or related work experience
