Skills and Competencies

  • 8+ years in software development and architecture, with a proven track record of designing complex systems.
  • Strong expertise in creating architecture diagrams, workflows, and technical documentation using tools such as Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Lucidchart, or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS and Azure; experience with designing cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
  • Foundational understanding of system design principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
  • Experience with relational, non-relational databases. Familiarity middleware platforms like MuleSoft and SAP CPI/BTP is a plus.
  • Sound understanding of secure coding practices, identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Skilled in UML, ER diagrams, and modelling tools for system design.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency.
  • Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Education

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the overall software architecture for enterprise applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Create detailed architecture diagrams, technical workflows, and documentation using tools like Visio or Lucidchart etc. for projects.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
  • Establish coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines for development teams.
  • Design and oversee implementation of cloud-native solutions on AWS and Azure.
  • Architect microservices and API-driven integrations for interoperability and modularity.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to engineering teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, performance assessments, and scalability planning.
  • Contribute to the integration of AI-driven components into system architecture.
  • Document architecture decisions and maintain a repository of design artefacts for future reference.

About the team The Corporate Systems team, part of the Technology Services Group, supports Moodys core business and technology operations by enabling reliable day to day execution, strong coordination, and effective governance across corporate platforms and shared services. The team partners closely with senior leaders, product teams, and key stakeholders across the enterprise to drive operational excellence while also advancing innovation, including the adoption and enablement of AI driven capabilities. By bringing structure, clarity, and rigor to complex environments, Corporate Systems team members contribute to high impact work that improves how technology is delivered, operated, and evolved across the organization-helping ensure Moodys systems are resilient, forward looking, and positioned for continued growth.

Compensation and Benefits For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00-$169,000.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moodys also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
