Job Summary: Supermicros Rack Scale Solutions team is at the forefront of innovation, driving the development of cutting-edge AI and HPC solutions that power the next generation of data centers. As the voice, business direction, and technical resource behind Supermicro 3.0, this team plays a critical role in shaping the future of data center infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced, driven, and proactive Sr. Business Development Manager to join our Rack Integration team at our headquarters in San Jose.

In this role, you will work closely with corporate clients, focusing on identifying and developing new Rack Integration opportunities. Your efforts will help generate leads for our sales teams. We are looking for someone who can bring innovative business development strategies to the table and play a key role in expanding our Rack Solution business. This individual will serve as a strategic business leader, collaborating with executive leadership, engineering, and marketing to implement consistent business development processes, enhance client relationships, and drive market penetration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee high-impact business development strategies aligned with corporate, regional, and industry-specific growth goals.
  • Client Acquisition and Outreach: Proactively approach and engage with new prospective customers through strategic outreach and relationship-building. Actively identify and evaluate new high-value business opportunities to drive Supermicros strategic goals.
  • Collaboration with Sales Teams: Partner with sales teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination in driving opportunities from qualification to close.
  • Sales Enablement and Training: Develop and deliver regular impactful sales training programs, both monthly and on-demand, including the creation of sales training kits.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: As Business Development Manager for Rack Team you will help lead cross-functional teams towards success, including project management, engineering, marketing, and product management, to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Delivering Training and Enablement: Conduct general purpose time-to-market (TTM) training for new rack products tailored to customer needs, ensuring clients are equipped with the knowledge to optimize Supermicro Rack Scale Solutions.
  • Client Growth and Retention: Expand and retain existing client accounts by identifying opportunities for growth and delivering solutions that meet their evolving needs.
  • Market Targeting and Qualification: Qualify potential opportunities by creating and refining target lists for vertical markets, focusing on enterprise and data center clients.
  • Strategic Positioning: Effectively position Supermicros rack solutions and services as leading solutions for data center and HPC challenges, aligning with customer goals.
  • Product-Customer Alignment: Promote and recommend the most suitable products to clients, ensuring alignment with their specific use cases and objectives.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and sharing insights on product and market developments.
  • Ongoing Learning: Commitment to ongoing learning and staying updated on industry advancements is highly valued.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in business, marketing, engineering, or related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience in server products, rack integration, or data center environments.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned goals, KPIs, and project milestones in a results-driven environment.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across multiple disciplines, cultures, and organizational levels, including C-suite executives.
  • Strong ability to work effectively under deadlines and constraints while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
  • Experience in tracking, analyzing, and reporting lead activity, with a demonstrated ability to use data to inform actionable next steps.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees such as MBA or certifications in related fields are a plus.
  • Experience in AI, HPC, or enterprise IT solutions is highly preferred.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
