    Job Description

The Business Manager serves as a critical bridge between the AWS Private Pricing Programs and Experiences (3PX) team and Senior Leaders across the Private Pricing organization. In this role, you will work at the center of the business strategy - first helping to define and evolve that strategy, then operationalizing it cross-functionally to deliver measurable impact. You will have direct responsibility for strategic planning and goal-setting cycles, the rhythm of the business, deep-dive analyses, executive communications, and cross-functional mechanisms. You will do this through your ability to orchestrate the right people and teams to deliver against a defined goal, project, or program.

This is a highly visible role for someone who can hold the pen on the plans and goal proposals presented to senior leaders, dive into data to uncover the holistic story, and package complex information into clear, decision-ready narratives for a VP audience. Through this work, you will help the Private Pricing business rally around a clear strategic vision, achieve ambitious goals, and drive step-change growth.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own strategic planning and goal-setting: Hold the pen on the organization's strategic plans and goal proposals - authoring the written narratives and documents that senior leaders use to make decisions, and driving the annual and ongoing planning cycles end-to-end.
    • Run the rhythm of the business: Build, own, and run recurring reporting mechanisms - monthly goal updates and recurring business/goal reviews - ensuring a reliable cadence of insight for the VP audience.
    • Drive deep-dive analysis: Dive into data to understand business trends, connect dots across the organization to uncover the holistic story, and deliver documents and reports on focused topics that deepen the broader org's business understanding.
    • Work closely with executive leadership: Serve as the conduit between deep analytics, reporting, and dashboards and the business decisions they inform - translating complex information into executive-ready narratives, insights, and recommendations for senior leadership.
    • Orchestrate cross-functional mechanisms: Strengthen organizational cohesion and effectiveness by establishing and driving mechanisms and workstreams for cross-functional efforts, building interlocks and processes whether joining existing ones or standing up new ones.
    • Support special projects: Partner with senior leadership on other high-impact projects and initiatives as needed, operating with strong business judgment in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
