About the Role:

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst serves as a business systems analyst on the applications team supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Payroll and Human Capital Management, working alongside another Payroll/HR BA and peer analysts. Gathers requirements, documents processes, configures and tests solutions, and supports payroll and HR operations so system changes meet business, compliance, and cycle-close needs.

Company Overview

With roots dating to 1891 and 8,500+ employees, MYR Group Inc. (MYR Group) is a publicly traded holding company of specialty electrical construction companies. MYR Group subsidiaries work on large-scale electrical construction projects throughout the U.S. and Canada. We contribute to a clean energy future while fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive work environment. Our culture is built on shared values and mutual respect, where teamwork and collaboration occur naturally.

Throughout our rich history, we have partnered with utilities, municipalities, commercial clients, and developers to deliver some of the largest and most complex projects, including new construction, upgrades, maintenance and repair for transmission, distribution and substation facilities, commercial and industrial electrical construction, emergency and storm restoration, clean energy, pre-construction services, and engineer-procure-construct (EPC) methods of project delivery.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare functional, configuration, and system documentation for developers and users in compliance with internal and external standards
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain end-user training and documentation for assigned JD Edwards Payroll and HR processes, coordinating with the other Payroll/HR BA so materials stay consistent
  • Assess current Payroll and HR system capabilities and identify upgrades, enhancements, or complementary tools that improve accuracy, cycle time, or compliance
  • Conduct cost/benefit and buy/build analyses for Payroll and HR initiatives; present findings and recommendations to management
  • Meet with Payroll, HR, and related stakeholders to collect, refine, and document business objectives and user needs
  • Coordinate development and vendor work for assigned items so solutions are correctly configured, tested, and integrated with E1 and related systems
  • Stay current on JDE E1 Payroll/HR capabilities, third-party interfaces, and changing organizational or regulatory requirements
  • Analyze Payroll and HR workflows with users to identify opportunities to improve productivity, integration, data quality, and cost
  • Review, analyze, and configure JD Edwards Payroll and HR applications to meet documented requirements
  • Serve as a liaison among Payroll/HR users, development, QA, peer BAs, and external partners
  • Follow the established requirements-gathering process; distinguish true needs from requested features
  • Communicate requirements through functional specifications, statements of work, project plans, and related documentation
  • Coordinate unit, integration, and user-acceptance testing with developers, QA, and users; confirm functionality before production use
  • Provide expert support for assigned payroll processes, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities, adjustments, and related reporting; partner with the other Payroll/HR BA for coverage and handoffs
  • Provide expert support for assigned HR processes, including employee setup and onboarding, annual open enrollment, and benefit integrations; coordinate with the other Payroll/HR BA during peak cycles
  • Assist in defining design options, cost analyses, and execution timelines for Payroll and HR initiatives, in coordination with the BA team
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed primarily in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards
