Description
We are building Terafab, a vertically integrated semiconductor factory at an unprecedented scale. The facility houses logic, memory, packaging, test, and lithography mask production under one roof, optimized for rapid iteration and maximum compute density per square foot.
Working directly on-site, you'll provide hands-on support to Tesla's construction teams and onboarded contractors, ensuring Tesla's rigorous EHS standards are not just met, but consistently exceeded. Reporting to the Construction Safety Manager, you'll be instrumental in setting clear safety expectations and fostering a robust safety culture across all contractor partnerships.
Provide field safety oversight of construction work activities for major infrastructure projects. Conduct project walks focused on safe work practices and conduct coaching conversations with workers when corrections are required
Be a visible model in the field, teach, train and coach business teams and support staff on fundamental EHS&S concepts and principles to reduce risk, and influence, inspire, and empower business teams and staff to reduce risk per our Tesla EHS&S vision, values and principles
Participate in reviews for high hazard work prior to execution to include critical lifts, confined space entries, high voltage work, pressure testing, fall protection plans, etc. Review Pre-Work Risk Assessments and Pre-Task Plans to ensure tasks, hazards and mitigations are in alignment with the work being performed in the field
Conduct proactive field activities and facility processes inspections to verify work in progress meets EHS&S goals, and document findings using internal and external software tools and applications; review improvement opportunities with EHS&S management, supervisors, operations managers, and stakeholders
Present material and information to the Tesla construction management team and contractors during safety meetings. Be a resource to the construction project management team and provide guidance, assistance and direction regarding EHS requirements
Perform frequent combined safety and environmental inspections and procedural audits in the field and have the skills, knowledge and ability to take immediate corrective action if required. Present findings and relevant information to the Tesla construction management team and contractors when needed
Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal health and safety regulations
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety/related field or 5-7 years of hands-on experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities (Automotive, tool/equipment installation, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.)
GSP, ASP, CSP, or CHST preferred
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment
Background in electrical, mechanical and process plumbing systems, or heavy civil preferred
Working knowledge of OSHA, ISO, ANSI, NFPA and ASTM standards
Ability to communicate clearly and interface across multiple departments
Have previous experience building, working in; semiconductor facilities, cleanroom environments; fabrication plants or Research & development labs
