SR. CRAFT TECHNICIAN - Electrician

Who We Are:

Join an independent R&D company as a skilled electrician to install, maintain, and repair experimental electrical equipment to aide in solving national security problems. By joining our team, you will receive an additional $500.00 in your first paycheck (minus applicable taxes).

Objectives of this Role:
  • Verify all work complies with NEC codes, LOTO and electrical safety requirements.
  • Read blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Work with 3-phase motors, stand by generator power install and UPS systems.
  • Interface with engineers and managers to plan new layouts and installation of test equipment and electrical components.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Work to maintain shop inventory and assist with restocking and placing orders to electrical distribution centers.
  • Work on a variety of projects and/or current challenges in designing, installing and maintaining electrical equipment.
  • Work well in a team setting and independently and staying organized with tasking while on travel for work assignments.
  • Assist with project tasking and field test set up.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed Texas Electrician - Wireman or Journeyman
  • 5+ years: Residential or commercial Apprentice, Wireman or Journeyman Electrician.
  • 2+ years: Experience trouble shooting electrical circuits, lights, relays and contactors. Familiar and knowledgeable in use of a voltmeter, motor rotation tester, and megger.
  • 2 years: Experience working with EMT, RMC, IMC and able to bend conduit.
  • 3+ years: Experience installing electrical panels, transformers and wire termination.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Defense and & Intelligence Solutions-Providing advanced direction finding and tracking systems through geolocation system development.
  • Fuels and Lubricants Research-Performing fuels and lubricants research activities to meet regulatory and competitive goals.
  • Intelligent Systems-Providing engineering services in resaerch and development of complex systems and equipment.
  • Mechanical Engineering-Improving safety, reliability, efficiency and life of new or existing mechanical components or systems.
  • Powertrain Engineering-Designing and developing vehicle and engine components to achieve performance and emissions goals.
  • Space Science & Engineering-Developing and managing advanced scientific payloads aboard satellites and sounding rockets.
