Sr. Data Engineer

We're looking for a Sr. Data Engineer with experience with large scale enterprise data platforms for a government agency located in the Washington DC metro area. This is a remote position; however, staff may be required to report onsite periodically based on client and business requirements. Position is contingent upon contract award.Overview: Establishes enterprise data pipelines and high-availability structures to modernize a government agency's  mission-critical data stores into Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASOTs).Key Responsibilities:• Design, build, and optimize secure ETL/ELT pipelines streaming complex maritime operational data into AWS GovCloud/Azure Government spaces.• Implement enterprise data fabric architectures enabling unified discovery across 11 distinct operationalnetworks.• Transition brittle legacy systems into modern cloud-native lakehouse repositories optimized for downstreamAI ingestion.Required Qualifications:• 7+ years of dedicated data engineering experience utilizing Apache Spark, Kafka, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory.• Strong command of cloud-native infrastructure automation within federal government environments.• Active IAM Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP) highly preferred.Additional RequirementsMust be able to pass a federal background investigation prior to starting work and maintain eligibility throughout the engagement.Salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $180,000.00Work Authorization: Government customer requires U.S. citizenship to work on the program.
