Job Title: Senior Quantitative Data Scientist

Location: Kirkland, WA hybrid

Total Cash Compensation: $300K+ structured according to abilities

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Quantitative Data Scientist for a private-markets valuation firm which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience building and validating production valuation models looking to further their career in quantitative finance and private-market valuation.

•      Design, build, validate, and own valuation models across private equity, corporate credit, infrastructure, and real estate through their full lifecycle.

•      Reconcile model output against actual market transactions and drive every unexplained discrepancy to root cause.

•      Build the tests, checks, and documentation that make outputs audit-grade: reproducible, explainable, and defensible.

•      Own the Python and SQL production pipeline, from messy market and transaction data to model output.

•      Defend methodology to auditors, clients, and internal reviewers, including the chief investment officer.

•      Work as a senior individual contributor, personally owning the highest-stakes models while junior scientists support side models.

•      Find alternative approaches when the first fails and drive every problem to completion.

Essential Qualifications

•      5+ years building production data science or quantitative models whose output was reviewed and relied on.

•      PhD or MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

•      Strong applied statistics and modeling depth, including time-series analysis, causal inference, and econometrics.

•      Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience shipping models and pipelines to production.

•      Ability to trace every result to raw source data.

•      Clear written methodology documentation that a non-author can audit and reproduce.

•      Ability to defend methodology under auditor and client scrutiny.

Bonus Qualifications

•      Exposure to private equity, corporate credit, infrastructure, or real estate valuation.

•      Broader public or private financial-markets background.

•      NLP experience.

•      Experience deploying models in data-constrained environments.

•      Published research, novel methods, or invited talks.
