Overview:
We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Sr. Director, Tax Accounting & Reporting to lead the income tax provision and reporting process. This role will oversee quarterly and annual tax provision work under ASC 740, support SEC reporting requirements, drive process improvements, and partner cross-functionally across the business.
The ideal candidate is a former Big 4 Senior Manager or above level with strong tax accounting experience who has transitioned into industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Tax Provision & Reporting
Lead the quarterly and annual income tax provision process (ASC 740), including:
Review and validate inputs driving the tax provision, including permanent differences and ETR drivers
Current and deferred tax calculations
Tax footnote disclosures for 10-K / 10-Q filings
Ensure all legal entities are reflected appropriately in the provision process
Apply strong technical knowledge of international tax matters and related reporting considerations
Evaluate relevant tax positions, reporting considerations, and related tax implications
Review provision-to-return analysis and reconciliation
Co-source with external firm on US corporate income taxes filing
Lead the tax forecasting process to support the EPS and cash flow guidance
Process Improvement & Systems
Audit & Compliance Coordination
Leadership & Business Partnership
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA required
10+ years of relevant experience, including:
Big 4 experience (Senior Manager level or above)
Industry experience leading tax provision end-to-end for a public multinational company
Strong technical expertise in ASC 740 / income tax accounting and SEC reporting
Experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource, Vertex, TaxStream)
Experience with tax forecasting process
Effective communication with external and internal auditors, as well as cross-functional stakeholders
Comfortable balancing technical depth with operational execution
Ability to manage complex, multi-entity tax environments
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling global organization
The Salary Range for this role is $190,000 - $220,000. At AvePoint, we strive to offer competitive, fair, and equitable total rewards.
