Join Vertiv's Product Integrity team as a hands-on engineer who solves hard electrical problems. You'll use advanced measurement and EMI/EMC testing to validate large UPS, static transfer, PDU, and battery/energy storage products, and help engineers across the team find root causes and sound solutions. If you like digging into waveforms and want to be a trusted technical resource in power quality, measurement, and EMI/EMC, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Investigate power quality and electrical issues, including harmonics, inrush, transients, generator and grid interactions, UPS transfer and ride-through, and battery and DC bus behavior, and back your conclusions with data.
Run pre-compliance and troubleshooting EMI/EMC tests on UPS, STS, PDU, and battery/energy storage products: conducted and radiated emissions (FCC Part 15, ICES-003, CISPR, IEC 62040-2) and IEC 61000-4 immunity. Work with designers on fixes, prepare products for formal compliance testing with accredited labs, and maintain EMI calibration and test records.
Support qualification, DVT, witness, and engineering testing of large UPS systems, plus customer demonstrations and field investigations.
Advise engineers on test setups, instrumentation, metrology, and data interpretation, and mentor technicians.
Build analysis tools, templates, and clear reports on findings, risks, and recommendations, using software, automation, and AI tools where they help, validated against measured data.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
6+ years in electrical test, power electronics, or power systems engineering.
Hands-on EMI/EMC testing experience (conducted and radiated emissions, FCC Part 15 or CISPR), or strong power electronics and EMC fundamentals.
Hands-on use of power analyzers, oscilloscopes, differential and current probes, CTs, and data acquisition, with a solid grasp of three-phase power, harmonics, power factor, and transients.
Skill at diagnosing complex electrical problems, and at writing test procedures and reports and presenting results to engineers, management, and customers.
Safe high-energy test practices (NFPA 70E).
Nice to Have
Experience with large UPS, static transfer, or battery energy storage systems (such as Vertiv Trinergy, EXL S1, or APM2).
Qualification, DVT, customer witness, or escalation experience.
Familiarity with IEC 62040-3, ITIC/CBEMA, and UL and EMC certification testing.
