Sr. Full-Stack Software Engineer – Web Applications / AI Platform

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to build and own production web applications that support an AI-powered platform used in a mission-driven environment.

The ideal candidate is first and foremost a strong web application/full-stack engineer who can take features from backend services and APIs through the frontend and into production. Experience incorporating AI and LLM capabilities into applications is highly valuable, but this is not primarily an ML/research role.

You will work across Python-based backend services, React/TypeScript web applications, databases, cloud infrastructure, and AI-powered features.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain production web applications from backend services through frontend user interfaces.
• Develop scalable REST APIs, backend services, business logic, and data models using Python and related frameworks.
• Build modern user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
• Work with PostgreSQL and other relational databases to design efficient data models and queries.
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build workflow-driven applications and integrations that connect users, data, APIs, and backend services.
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into production applications, including LLM APIs, agents, retrieval, search, and tool calling.
• Work with AWS cloud services and modern deployment technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Participate in architecture, technical planning, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and production reliability.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building and supporting production web applications.
• Demonstrated full-stack software development experience.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience with Django/Django REST Framework, FastAPI, Flask, or a comparable backend framework.
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript or comparable modern frontend technologies.
• Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
• Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Demonstrated ability to own technical problems and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered applications.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, LLM APIs, or similar platforms.
• Experience with RAG, vector search, embeddings, AI agents, tool calling, or prompt engineering.
• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch or other search technologies.
• Experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka.
• Experience with Redis, Celery, or similar distributed task-processing technologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience building data-intensive, workflow-driven, or analyst-facing applications.
• Experience working in government, defense, healthcare, financial services, or other compliance-sensitive environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
