Senior IT Project Manager

Location: Remote – Latin America (LATAM)
Contract: 12+ months
Schedule: 40 hours per week, working U.S. Eastern Time (EST) hours

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead multiple cross-functional projects from planning through implementation and completion. This individual will manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations while ensuring projects meet business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings strong senior-level project management experience, a strategic, big-picture mindset, and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously. They should be comfortable working across IT and business teams, influencing stakeholders without direct authority, managing vendors, and communicating project status, risks, and recommendations to leadership.

This is a fully remote, long-term contract opportunity for a professional based in Latin America who can work a schedule aligned with U.S. Eastern Time.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Delivery: Manage 3–6 concurrent projects, including medium- to large-scale initiatives, from initial planning through implementation and post-launch support.

• Budgeting & Financial Management: Develop project estimates, manage budgets and forecasts, track costs, monitor financial performance, and communicate potential budget impacts.

• Team Leadership: Coordinate cross-functional project teams, allocate resources, clarify project objectives, and keep teams aligned on deliverables and milestones.

• Risk & Issue Management: Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential roadblocks; develop mitigation and contingency plans; and proactively recommend solutions.

• Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external vendors to maintain alignment and support successful project delivery.

• Project Reporting: Prepare clear, consistent status reports covering progress, milestones, risks, financials, and decisions requiring leadership attention.

• Vendor Management: Monitor vendor performance, contractual deliverables, invoices, and project commitments.

• Change Management: Manage scope changes, assess impacts to timelines and budgets, and adjust project plans and resources as needed.

• Program-Level Coordination: Identify dependencies across projects, provide recommendations to program leadership, and help prioritize deliverables and resolve cross-functional challenges.

• Continuous Improvement: Apply established project management methodologies, track key performance metrics, and document lessons learned to improve future delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of project management experience and 8+ years of IT or related business experience.

• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent, medium- to large-scale projects.

• Experience managing project budgets, financial forecasts, resource plans, risks, dependencies, and change control.

• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct reporting authority.

• Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies and project management best practices.

• Experience managing IT projects, with exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC) projects and Agile or iterative delivery methodologies preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting project updates and risks to senior stakeholders.

• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Proficiency with project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Jira, or similar platforms.

• Must be based in Latin America and available to work 40 hours per week aligned with U.S. Eastern Time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• Experience managing projects in complex, matrixed enterprise environments.

• Familiarity with IT infrastructure and application architecture.

• Experience with vendor management, project financial controls, and executive-level reporting.

• Experience providing post-implementation support and coordinating stabilization or hypercare activities.
