About the Position
The Sr. Maintenance Tech will provide leadership to the Maintenance Team, through job assignments, follow through, and ensuring the customer satisfaction. They will be an active team player in the department through inclusion and collaboration. The Senior Maintenance Tech will be skilled in the maintenance and repair of all equipment in the facility, providing coaching and instruction to those with less experience.
Primary Accountabilities:
Ensure that maintenance techs work effectively with the customer and contractors to complete all tasks to the specification required.
Develop, plan, and execute capital projects through-out the facility.
Subject matter expert and have superior knowledge of the plant operating systems and utilities processes.
Build strong relationships and utilize external resources to assist or help troubleshoot critical failures or ongoing issues.
Participate and initiate projects (solve problems) to upgrade the facility and manufacturing processes within the day to day maintenance scope.
Communicate significant issues to your supervisor and or next level manager. Formulate solutions to those issues on both the short term and long term.
Participate and help develop a vision (5-year plan), and potential capital improvements towards a future planning of the Hamilton facility.
Conduct preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and servicing a wide variety of production equipment
Respond immediately to emergency situations. Maintain and address unsafe conditions in the plant. The MTI is expected to elevate any safety concerns to Mgmt. daily.
Cross train with other technicians to broaden their knowledge base in all areas of the plant and the Maintenance Department
Utilize outside resources to assist or help troubleshoot critical failures or ongoing issues.
Actively participate in departmental meetings, activities, and lean initiatives.
Troubleshoot issues and resolve them with minimal or no assistance with the specific intent to eliminate a re-occurrence.
Requirements:
H.S. Diploma or GED required
5+ years of previous experience in a maintenance mechanic position
Stationary Engineer license- Chicago specific requirement
Experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Motors, Conveyors, and PLCs
Technical training certifications, preferred
Knowledge of electrical and/or hydraulic systems
Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
Proven effective problem-solving skills - engaging internal and external customers as needed.
Written and verbal communication skills
Able to work OT including some weekends, holidays, and nights
Previous experience with 5S, electrical/mechanical schematics
Must be able to work safely following all OSHA and SQF requirements
Must be able to operate power material handling equipment and power tools in a safe and effective manner
Salary range: $30.23 - $45.35
The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. This role will remain open until filled.
