Amazon"s scale creates unique problems in the management of compute and mobile devices for internal use. At our scale, manual tasks are unacceptable-automation is a hard requirement even when vendors don"t provide the facilities to do so. As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will drive the product vision and execution strategy for the systems and services that keep Amazon"s vast fleets of Android and Linux end-user devices running reliably, at scale, across our global fulfillment and logistics operations. Amazon"s fulfillment organizations rely on Android and Linux based end-user devices as the backbone of core workflows that ship packages to customers every day.

In this role, you will own the product direction for home-grown device management software systems and enabling services-ensuring consistent device state across large fleets, building robust deployment pipelines with safety mechanisms and troubleshooting visibility, and driving automation that eliminates manual intervention at scale.

You will spearhead product strategy for business-critical services with very high availability requirements. You will define and own the roadmap for device management solutions, partnering closely with Business and solution owners for Amazon operations, Software Development and Systems Engineering stakeholders to shape architecture choices, prioritize investments, and deliver solutions that improve associate efficiency and Amazon customer experience. Your work directly influences Amazon"s ability to fulfill customer orders-when these systems are unavailable or degraded, the business impact is immediate and measurable.

This is a highly cross-functional role. You will collaborate with a broad range of internal teams and partner organizations to drive adoption of device management services, integrate experimental and production solutions, and work with hardware vendors to define cost-effective device roadmaps that enable deep integration into device subsystems. You will bring strong product instincts, technical depth, and a relentless bias for automation and operational excellence to support everything you deliver.

You will guide a cross-functional team of technical product managers, UX designers, and business intelligence engineers responsible for next-generation infrastructure technologies, including agentic AI solutions. The right candidate will be equally comfortable developing multi-year product strategy and diving deep into technical details with engineering partners. This is a player-coach role that requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution.

You will define the multi-year product roadmap for creator-facing tools, drive adoption of self-service capabilities that eliminate manual workflows, and build trust through transparency and intuitive experiences. You will you will not only shape the direction but also define requirements, drive launches, and measure outcomes.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define and own a 3+ year product vision and roadmap for the device management platform covering Android and Linux fleet management, deployment systems, device enablement services, and operational tooling.
  • Establish north-star metrics for creator experience quality and drive continuous improvement through experimentation and user research.
  • Partner with Software Development and Systems Engineering stakeholders to shape architecture choices, evaluate build-vs-buy tradeoffs, and ensure designs meet very high availability requirements (99.9%+ uptime).
  • Drive the technical definition of deployment systems with safeties, rollback mechanisms, and fleet-wide observability.
  • Partner with external vendors, internal teams to define cost-effective device roadmaps enabling deep subsystem integration.
  • Own product-level accountability for device uptime, fleet compliance, and deployment success rates across compute and device solutions.
  • Drive end-to-end initiatives from discovery through launch and post-launch measurement; write PRDs, define requirements, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
