Job Description

• Provide technical leadership for multiple concurrent IBM Maximo upgrade, migration, integration, and modernization projects.
• Serve as the lead technical resource for IBM Maximo 7.5, Maximo 7.6, and IBM Maximo Application Suite 9 environments.
• Provide hands-on technical support for Maximo architecture, configuration, customization, integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Lead or provide technical direction for the re-platforming and upgrade of existing Maximo 7.5 environments to Maximo 7.6.
• Lead infrastructure migration activities involving the movement of existing Maximo environments from VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V or another approved hosting platform.
• Provide technical leadership for database migration and upgrade activities, including the migration of existing Oracle 11 environments to Oracle 12 or another supported database platform.
• Assess existing application, integration, database, middleware, and infrastructure components to identify compatibility issues, technical dependencies, risks, and remediation requirements.
• Design and review technical solutions that address application, database, infrastructure, security, integration, performance, availability, and operational-support requirements.
• Configure and troubleshoot Maximo integrations, including integration objects, enterprise services, publish channels, invocation channels, external systems, message queues, cron tasks, endpoint configurations, and related integration components.
• Analyze complex application and integration issues across multiple technology layers, including Maximo, WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, databases, operating systems, middleware, network connections, certificates, and external systems.
• Lead root-cause analysis for complex production and non-production incidents, including performance degradation, integration failures, message-processing backlogs, application errors, deployment failures, and environment availability issues.
• Work with incomplete, ambiguous, or evolving requirements to define the technical problem, identify assumptions, evaluate options, and recommend an implementation approach.
• Translate business and operational requirements into practical technical designs, implementation plans, deployment procedures, and testing strategies.
• Make technical decisions within the assigned area of responsibility, clearly documenting alternatives, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and expected impacts.
• Take ownership of technical work from initial analysis through solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, validation, documentation, and production support.
• Develop, review, and validate implementation plans, migration plans, rollback procedures, test plans, deployment checklists, and operational-support documentation.
• Establish technical standards and repeatable practices for Maximo configuration, integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and environment management.
• Review technical designs, configurations, scripts, code changes, database changes, and deployment packages for quality, supportability, security, and alignment with the approved architecture.
• Coordinate technical activities across application development, infrastructure, database, networking, cybersecurity, quality assurance, vendor, and business teams.
• Identify technical risks, blockers, resource dependencies, and scheduling conflicts early and communicate them clearly to project leadership and affected teams.
• Ensure that solutions meet functional, technical, security, performance, availability, recoverability, and maintainability requirements.
• Support system testing, integration testing, performance testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, deployment validation, and post-implementation verification.
• Provide technical support during planned deployments, maintenance activities, system upgrades, production changes, and critical incident resolution, including activities scheduled outside normal business hours when required.
• Produce clear and accurate technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration documents, troubleshooting procedures, implementation instructions, technical assessments, and decision records.
• Communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Operate independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver assigned work with minimal supervision.
• Stay current with supported IBM Maximo and MAS technologies, platform requirements, integration capabilities, database technologies, infrastructure platforms, and enterprise security standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience supporting and implementing enterprise asset management systems, with significant hands-on experience in IBM Maximo 7.5 and 7.6.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite 9, including its architecture, configuration, deployment model, integrations, and operational support requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of the Maximo Integration Framework and related integration technologies.
• Demonstrated experience leading Maximo upgrade, migration, re-platforming, or modernization projects.
• Experience migrating enterprise applications between infrastructure or virtualization platforms, such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Experience supporting Oracle database upgrades or migrations in enterprise application environments.
• Strong understanding of WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server, Java-based enterprise applications, relational databases, middleware, networking, SSL/TLS certificates, and system integrations.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving multiple systems, teams, and technology layers.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex technical initiatives from planning through production implementation.
• Ability to make independent technical decisions and operate effectively with minimal oversight.
• Strong technical writing, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience working in a technical lead or solution-lead role on projects of similar size and complexity.
• Experience migrating legacy Maximo environments to IBM Maximo Application Suite.
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, containerized application platforms, or cloud-hosted enterprise applications.
• Experience supporting highly available and business-critical Maximo environments.
• Experience with application and database performance tuning.
• Experience coordinating work with system integrators, software vendors, infrastructure providers, and managed-service partners.
• Familiarity with enterprise change management, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, audit, and production-support processes.
