Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Sr. Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare organization in the Willowbrook area of Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a certified Medical Assistant with strong clinical skills who is comfortable working in a fast-paced Neurosurgery setting and providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Support physicians and clinical staff with daily clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Prepare patients for examinations, including rooming, obtaining vital signs, and gathering relevant medical information.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider.
- Assist with medication management and maintain accurate medication information.
- Order and process laboratory tests and other clinical orders as needed.
- Obtain and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Enter and update patient information, orders, and clinical documentation.
- Assist with maintaining exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinical equipment.
- Coordinate patient care and communicate relevant information to providers and other members of the healthcare team.
- Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-focused service throughout the patient visit.
- Follow established clinical, safety, infection-control, and facility procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable healthcare regulations and policies.
- Perform other Medical Assistant duties as assigned.
Facility Requirement: This is a non-smoking facility, and candidates must be able to successfully complete a required drug and nicotine screening.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) certification required.
- Previous experience in Neurosurgery, Primary Care, or another specialty clinic preferred.
- Experience with injections, medication management, and laboratory orders required.
- Strong knowledge of electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
- Excellent clinical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Professional, dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
- Must be able to successfully complete required drug and nicotine screening.
