Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned, customer-minded engineer to serve as our Sr. Microsoft Cloud Engineer, designing, building, supporting, and fine-tuning Microsoft cloud and data center environments for our customers. Your day-to-day will center on technologies such as Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Exchange Online, VMware, Hyper-V, HP VME, Windows Server, and Veeam. You'll move between post-sales implementation, deep troubleshooting, solution design, and advising customers, and you'll sometimes join the pre-sales process to help scope and shape engagements before they begin. This position is based in Saratoga Springs, NY on a hybrid schedule. Local candidates are preferred, though East Coast remote candidates will also be considered.
Job Responsibilities
• Deploy, configure, migrate, and support advanced Microsoft cloud, virtualization, identity, backup and recovery, and data center solutions.
• Design and build solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Exchange Online, VMware, Hyper-V, HP VME, Windows Server, Veeam, and related identity and infrastructure services.
• Help plan, architect, sequence, and schedule cloud and data center projects, including migrations.
• Act as a go-to resource for tough technical issues, supporting both internal teams and customers.
• Teach and mentor customers and colleagues, passing along knowledge whenever it's needed.
• Guide customers through modernization, including cloud adoption, hybrid infrastructure, Microsoft 365 migrations, identity upgrades, consolidation, virtualization, and backup and recovery planning.
• Build customer confidence by setting expectations, communicating clearly, following through, and solving problems well.
• Run your own technical tasks and projects with little supervision.
• Keep your skills current across cloud, identity, virtualization, data center, security, and backup technologies through hands-on work and continuing education.
• Support pre-sales efforts, including technical discovery, solution design, bills of materials, engineering estimates, and professional services agreements.
• Provide technical leadership and escalation guidance to the customer support team.
• Help shape and standardize the company's Microsoft cloud, CSP, data center, and backup and recovery offerings, architectures, and delivery practices.
• Spot ways to strengthen customer environments through standardization, modernization, automation, security, resiliency, identity management, and data protection.
• Pursue certifications, training, and self-study on an ongoing basis; some study may happen outside normal hours, and course materials and exam fees are typically covered.
• Take on additional duties as business and technology needs evolve.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7 or more years of related systems engineering experience.
• Proven proficiency with the products supported, and the ability to resolve the most complex problems.
• Strong skill installing and supporting high-end systems solutions efficiently and reliably.
• A clear understanding of current and emerging technology trends, with the judgment to make sound systems integration decisions.
• Willingness to maintain certifications and demonstrate a high level of competence on software and hardware, as defined by management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in one or more of the following: Office 365, Azure, Microsoft servers and networks, SANs, switching, firewalls, or wireless.
