Job Description
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction and estimating through successful completion.
- Prepare and review estimates, budgets, takeoffs, bid packages, pricing, and project proposals.
- Oversee construction projects involving concrete, earthwork, excavation, foundations, and related heavy civil scopes.
- Coordinate directly with field crews, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and overall financial performance.
- Identify construction challenges, project risks, and opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Lead competitive bidding and preconstruction planning for public and private projects.
- Maintain strong client relationships while ensuring projects meet quality, schedule, and financial goals.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of directly relevant heavy civil construction project management and estimating experience.
- Strong construction background involving concrete, dirt/earthwork, excavation, or geotechnical construction.
- Experience working for a heavy civil, earthwork, concrete, or specialty construction contractor.
- Proven ability to manage construction projects and prepare accurate estimates.
- Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, takeoffs, bidding, and cost control.
- Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Livermore, CA.
- Bay Area construction experience strongly preferred.
