Infrastructure Engineering is looking for an innovative Sr. Process Design Engineer to join our Process Utilities Design team. The Process Utilities Design team drives to create the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting-edge detailed design of chemical and utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing and refining plants.
Apply engineering fundamentals and a broad set of process engineering tools to solve technical problems and create novel detailed designs for a wide range of systems including bulk gas storage/distribution, chemical storage and distribution, high purity water (RO/DI), cryogenics, viscous fluids, flammable fluids storage and distribution, wastewater treatment, involving unit operations such as pump and compressor systems, reverse osmosis, filtration, distillation, heat transfer fluid systems
Lead scope development and produce basis of design documentation supporting CAPEX estimation, OPEX projections, and vendor selection
Lead completion of construction drawings for permit and construction execution
Develop process flow diagrams (PFD), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), 3D equipment layouts, 3D pipe layouts, and isometric fabrication drawings
Generate process engineering calculations and documentation, including: mass and energy balances, hydraulic analysis, thermodynamic system modeling, relief valve selection
Specify equipment, piping, valves, and materials of construction per applicable codes such as ASME B31.3, B31.9, API
Model equipment and piping in Revit or work directly with modelers to develop fabrication detail drawing packages for Construction
Bachelor s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in process design, piping design, equipment design, process improvement or operations. Experience in detailed design and issuance of fabrication drawings for systems common to high-tech industries such as semiconductor, specialty chemical, solar, battery
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure within 3 months is strongly preferred
Subject matter expertise in applicable codes for process system design such as OSHA requirements for hazardous systems, ASME pressure vessel and piping codes, NFPA codes such as NFPA 30 and 55, and relevant building codes
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revisto, Bluebeam, Pipe-Flo, Relief Valve Sizing Software and thermodynamic modeling
Fundamental approach to design with an intimate understanding for the options selected and rejected to complete the process system
