    Job Description

Amazon"s Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) business is scaling rapidly and the perishable supply chain that supports it needs to scale with it. Our Perishable Distribution Strategy team is seeking a strategic Sr. Program Manager (internally titled Sr. Supply Chain Manager) to drive the expansion of the consolidation hub network that supports Amazon Now"s 30-minute delivery promise.

In this role, you will lead site design, topology planning, and launch execution for net-new consolidation hubs serving Amazon Now. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization to turn site builds from concept into reality.

This is a true builder role. The perishable distribution strategy is in its early stages and you will play a key part in shaping and defining it from the ground up.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Own the site design and launch execution for net new distribution sites - driving leadership alignment and execution planning across multiple workstreams.
    • Build complex network models to evaluate topology options for site builds, capacity timing, and CapEx trade-offs across multiple markets.
    • Identify and mitigate risks proactively particularly around resourcing windows, technology dependencies, and timeline misalignment between stakeholders.

    A day in the life

You will spend your time partnering with stakeholders to refine site designs, navigate a complex organization with competing priorities to bring site builds to life, effectively escalate risks to timeline, and align partner teams on key launch deliverables. You will operate with significant autonomy in a space where the frameworks and processes are being built for the first time.

    About the team

The Perishable Distribution Strategy team owns long-range planning for Amazon"s perishable supply chain, the network of temperature-controlled distribution centers, consolidation hubs, and delivery infrastructure that gets fresh product to customers.

We define where to build, what to build, and when balancing customer experience, cost efficiency, and speed of execution. Our work directly shapes the physical infrastructure behind Amazon"s grocery businesses globally.

We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
