The Opportunity
This role sits within a highly visible risk control function supporting a global trading organization with major hubs across North America, Europe, and Asia. You will act as a key partner to trading teams, providing independent oversight and deep analysis of market risk exposure across a diverse portfolio of physical and financial commodities.
This is an opportunity to step into a true market risk roleworking closely with front office teams, influencing decision-making, and gaining exposure to sophisticated trading strategies across crude, natural gas, LNG, and evolving energy markets.
What Youll Do
- Deliver independent oversight and reporting of market risk exposure across a global trading portfolio
- Monitor daily P&L, mark-to-market valuations, and risk metrics including Value at Risk (VaR)
- Analyze key drivers of trading performance and exposure across multiple commodities and instruments
- Evaluate and model risk at both trade and portfolio levels, including stress testing and scenario analysis
- Partner with trading, risk, and technology teams to enhance analytics, reporting, and risk frameworks
- Ensure compliance with risk limits and policies, escalating and advising on mitigation strategies when needed
- Contribute to the evolution of risk systems through automation, visualization, and digital innovation
- Serve as a trusted advisor on market risk, bringing insight and challenge to trading strategies
