Staff AccountantJohnston, RI |Pay rate: $34/hr W2 |3 months contract- Prepare and post daily journal entries for loan-related transactions, primarily student loans and mortgage loans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and recurring monthly accounting entries.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure proper application of debits, credits, and accounting principles.
- Review incoming payments and process related accounting transactions in accordance with company procedures.
- UtilizeOracleto post, review, and approve accounting entries; training provided as needed.
- Create, update, and analyze spreadsheets usingMicrosoft Excel, including formulas and data validation for reporting purposes.
- Support the accounting team with ad hoc tasks, reporting requests, and coverage during employee leave.
- Collaborate closely with a small onsite team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of accounting deadlines.
- Maintain strong attention to detail while meeting productivity and accuracy standards in a fast-paced environment.
