Responsibilities:

This position is a general labor position and is responsible for using a forklift to move finished product around the facility.  It may also include the use of a pallet jack to load and unload materials and finished goods.  The position will include loading and unloading trucks, warehouse maintenance and housekeeping and completion of daily paperwork. This position will work with Operations to ensure they receive the products and materials needed to keep the production lines running. 

 

1. Safety 1st, follow all safety requirements including wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as prescribed for each work activity or job.
2. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions/safety concerns and injuries immediately to the Shift Lead, Supervisor, Operations Manager or HR. 
3. Meet performance requirements in a fast-paced environment. 
4. Drive stand-up forklift/walkie truck. 
5. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. 
6. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. 
7. Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms. 
8. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. 
9. Marks materials with identifying information. 
10. Opens bales, crates, and other containers. 
11. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. 
12. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. 
13. Uses computer to enter records. 
14. Inventory management 
15. All other duties assigned

Qualifications:

Education Level:  

• High School diploma or GED 

• Or Two years of related work experience 

 

Experience: 

• Prior food manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
• Material handling experience 

 

 

Skills: 

• Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with peers, Team Leads and Supervisors. 

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail  

• Must be a self-motivated self-starter. 

• Must be adaptable and flexible 

• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing  

• This position will work with Operations to ensure they receive the products and materials needed to keep the production lines running. 

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: 

Manufacturing Environment 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to cold, wet or humid conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and the noise level can be loud. 

 

May lift up to 50 lbs. regularly 

 

Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time
