JOB SUMMARYSupports accurate financial reporting and cost control in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for month-end accounting activities, cost and inventory analysis, fixed asset accounting, and audit support, while providing timely financial insights to management and ensuring compliance with IFRS and company policies.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with IFRS, including the calculation of accruals and management of prepaid expensesCoordinate and maintain the department's month-end close checklist to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingMaintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standardsPrepare supporting documentation and schedules for the annual financial auditMaintain and, in collaboration with IT, develop systems and processes to support cost accounting requirementsSupport physical inventory counts and cycle count processes, investigating and resolving variances as neededAssist with the development of the annual operating budget and preparation of quarterly forecastsPrepare monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesRecord and reconcile monthly intercompany transactionsAnalyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costsProvide management with detailed financial and cost reports to support business decision-making and cost control initiativesMonitor tooling and prototype projects from a financial perspective, including tracking related costs and revenuesUnder management direction, independently analyze financial data to assess the impact of costs on business operationsEvaluate process constraints and collaborate with management to develop and implement appropriate financial controlsProvide timely and accurate cost and financial information to management at an appropriate level of detailComply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures

Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience5+ years of experience or equivalentAutomotive experience a plusSignificant analytical capabilityExperience working with Cost/Financial systems (QAD is a plus)

Excellent written, verbal communication and collaborative skillsProficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office productsProficiency in QADAble to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be team oriented and able to work with all employees at all levels of the organization
