Job Summary:
PPI Quality & Engineering is partnering with Kiwa North America to hire a hands-on Staff Accountant (Contract) to join the Finance team on a temporary, project-based assignment supporting a period of organizational growth and process evaluation.
About the role:
This Staff Accountant (Contract) role is designed to provide immediate accounting support across multiple areas of the business while partnering closely with the Finance and Internal Control Manager on day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, process improvements, and special projects.
This is a temporary contract assignment as a Casual/Project Employee of Kiwa North America. Based on business needs, organizational growth, and individual performance, there may be an opportunity to be considered for future full-time positions, including Staff Accountant or FP&A Analyst.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote)
Reports To: Finance and Internal Control Manager
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Perform account, bank, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, prepaids, and financial reporting.
- Analyze account variances and prepare supporting schedules.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Document accounting processes and identify opportunities for process improvements and stronger internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AP, AR, Payroll, FP&A, Treasury, and Operations, to support Finance initiatives.
- Support assigned accounting projects and priorities as identified during the engagement.
Do you have what it takes?:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 1–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
- Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate.
- Experience supporting multiple entities.
- ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Experience working in manufacturing, professional services, or shared services environments.
- Experience supporting audits and internal controls
