Staff Accountant
Location: Dallas, TX (Preston Center) - 100% onsite

Delta Dallas is currently representing a family wealth management office that owns and manages entities across a broad range of industries, including restaurants, commercial & rental properties, hotels and investments in its search for a Staff Accountant to report directly to its Controller.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field and bring 3-5 years of general accounting experience, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-/quarter-/year-end close activities, financial reporting, and cash applications. Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is strongly preferred.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, lean team environment and values broad exposure over a traditional corporate career path. As the family continues to expand its investment portfolio, the Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to support a diverse range of businesses and industries, providing ongoing variety and new challenges. Key Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting & Close Support
    • Maintain general ledger accounting for multiple entities, including operating companies and investments.
    • Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
    • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
    • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while maintaining organized financial documentation.
  • Financial Reporting & Multi-Entity Accounting
    • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting and variance analysis.
    • Prepare audit, tax, and external reporting workpapers.
    • Track and reconcile intercompany transactions, capital activity, and distributions.
    • Support cash flow monitoring and entity-level reporting across a diverse portfolio.
  • Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Management
    • Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
    • Manage cash applications and payment reconciliations, including point-of-sale (POS) system activity.
    • Reconcile bank accounts, merchant services, credit card settlements, and POS deposits.
    • Assist with collections, cash management, and balance tracking across multiple entities.
  • Collaboration & Process Improvement
    • Partner with leadership to support daily accounting operations and special projects.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and accounting systems.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
    • Provide ad hoc accounting, reporting, and analytical support as needed.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience; experience in private companies, family offices, professional services, or multi-entity environments preferred
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and basic financial reporting
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities and intercompany activity is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in QuickBooks Enterprise or another ERP system required
  • CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA is a plus but not required
