Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, journal entries, cash applications, and accounts payable process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
This role is ideal for an early-career professional seeking hands-on experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting within a collaborative team environment.
Location: Dallas, TX | USA | Full-time Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Perform account reconciliations (bank, cash, etc.)
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions
- Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
- Research and resolve basic accounting discrepancies
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues
- Assist with special projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
