Description

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, journal entries, cash applications, and accounts payable process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional seeking hands-on experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting within a collaborative team environment.

Location: Dallas, TX | USA | Full-time Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, cash, etc.)
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Analyze financial data and investigate account variances
  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions
  • Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
  • Research and resolve basic accounting discrepancies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
