We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who enjoys structured, accuracy-critical work and wants to grow deeper into payroll-tax compliance. This role is ideal for someone with solid accounting fundamentals who is comfortable with high-volume daily tasks and interested in building expertise in multi-state payroll tax.

You don't need MasterTax experience - we can train that.

You do need strong accounting skills, comfort with daily workflows, and genuine interest in the tax side of accounting.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting transactional velocity and accuracy in accounting functions
  • Accurately perform periodic accounting tasks on the appropriate timelines
  • Support QBO environment by completing bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and all other period close activities accurately and on time
  • Perform Daily MasterTax processing (PTS upload, generating daily payment files, etc)
  • Perform timely & accurate remittance of all Partners PEO and client tax liabilities
  • Research & resolve variances in support of period close and continuous improvement activities
  • Remittance of WC liabilities and related reporting
  • Updating and maintaining monthly work papers in accordance with closing schedule
  • Analysis of vendor invoices for client billing
  • Entry of both short-term (Bill Pending) and long-term (Billing Rules) client billing items
  • Maintenance of accounting tools (SOPs, Job Aids, Forms, Notes, Training Materials)
Measures of Success:
  • 100% accurate and timely completion of taskings
  • Appropriate remittance of tax liabilities
  • No impactful tax notices resulting from error
  • No tax penalties resulting from error
  • 100% accurate and timely billing of client items
  • 100% accurate and timely delivery of variance analysis
  • 100% accurate and timely correction of Prism caused variances
  • Strong collaborative relationship with the CSC
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 2-3 years minimum experience in a professional accounting role
  • Proficiency using QBO
  • Problem solving skills and highly analytical
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and precision in all tasks
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Desire to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment


Work Environment: this is a full-time, in-office position

Compensation: $28-35/hr + benefits
