    Job Description:

    The Staff Accountant for Wholesale Inventory is responsible for providing accounting for Metroplex Energy.  The role is accountable for timely and accurate reconciliation and valuation of inventory. 

    What You'll Do:

    • Accountable for the accurate and timely completion of Settlement activities daily:

      • Reconcile and update inventory volumes; work to resolve volume discrepancies

      • Generate customer invoices and supporting documentation

      • Settle all third-party transactions per contractual terms

      • Liaise with counterparties should any discrepancies occur; provide thorough explanations and seek resolutions to the discrepancies.   

    • Timely and accurately reconciling and closing inventory at month end 

    • Ensure inventory transactions are accurately reflected in the financial records

    • Work independently with general supervision and can communicate and work through difficult problems. 

    • Assists in developing solutions to financial and operational processes for inventory functions, policies, and procedures

    • Carries out ad hoc reports/assignments as needed

    • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external counterparties 

    • Assists in the development and maintenance of department wide plans, goals, and deadlines

    What We're Looking For:

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with a concentration in finance, accounting or related field of study

    • 1-3  years accounting experience; preferably fuel experience

    • Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP

    • Advanced experience using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel nice to have Power BI and/or ERP knowledge
