Position Overview

Join an established, family-owned Indianapolis manufacturer serving global aerospace and power-generation markets. As a Staff Accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting and partner with Finance and operations to turn accounting data into useful business insights.

What You Will Do as a Staff Accountant:

• Support month-end close, prepare and post journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Reconcile balance sheet and inventory accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial reports and account analysis; explain significant changes and variances to management.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, compare actual results with plans, and assist with cash flow projections.
• Analyze inventory obsolescence, job costs, and gross margins to support operational decisions.
• Prepare audit documentation and support accurate reporting and established internal controls.
• Assist with AP invoice matching and payroll uploads; cross-train and provide backup support for AR and other Finance processes.

What You Bring:

• Relevant accounting experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred; inventory accounting and cost analysis experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP or accounting software experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines and collaborate across departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
