A growing specialty insurance organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities while working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
Process and reconcile cash transactions, accounts payable, and other general accounting activities.
Assist with premium, commission, and insurance-related accounting transactions as needed.
Support audit requests and prepare documentation for external auditors.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with special projects.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1-3+ years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred
Insurance, financial services, or professional services experience.
Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
CPA eligibility or progress toward certification.
Exposure to ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
