What We NeedCORPAY is currently looking to hire a Staff Accountant within our Accounting and Finance division. This position falls under our Corporate Payables line of business and is located in Brentwood. In this role, you will be an instrumental component of the company's Accounting Department primarily within the Corporate Payments division. You will report directly to the Assistant Controller and regularly collaborate with the team and other departments.How We WorkAs a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to work in an office environment. CORPAY will set you up for success by providing:Assigned workspace in Brentwood office in a hybrid settingFormal, hands‑on trainingRole ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the role will include:Ownership of daily reconciliations including prompt resolution of identified variances.Preparation of month‑end close activities, including timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.Providing additional support for preliminary month‑end financial review and flux explanations at the request of supervisors.Ensuring collaboration for an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year‑end close.Continually evaluating and optimizing processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy.Participating in the preparation of internal controls and the corresponding policies and procedures that improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business.Coordinating with other team members within our department to ensure accuracy of the financial account balances.Partnering with and liaising with other departments on analyzing financial balances, problem resolution, and strategic business initiatives.Participating in special projects and performing other related duties as assigned.Qualifications & SkillsProven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, well developed problem‑solving skills, solid organizational skills, and the demonstrated ability to be self‑directed and effectively communicate to all levels of an organization when necessary.Ability to coordinate and work within a team in a hybrid environment.Demonstrated background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX.Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines timely and accurately in a high‑pace environment.Excellent organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.Hands‑on, detail‑oriented individual with the ability to see the big picture.Desire to work in a complex, large‑scale accounting and finance environment.The right person will be ambitious and flexible who wants to learn and grow professionally.Uncompromising commitment to diligence, rigor and excellence.Firm, assertive, and non‑abrasive style that engenders collaboration and loyalty.Advanced computer skills for Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and up‑to‑date skills for ERP, EPM and DB systems.Ideal ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA track a plus.0‑2 years of previous experience in accounting roles – public accounting experience a plus.Understanding of journal entries and account reconciliations.Fintech, financial, technology sector/industry experience a plus.Interest with process improvement and IT system implementation projects.Medical, Dental & Vision benefits available the 1 st month after hire.Automatic enrollment into our 401k plan (subject to eligibility requirements).Virtual fitness classes offered company‑wide.Robust PTO offerings including major holidays, vacation, sick, personal, & volunteer time.Employee discounts with major providers (e.g., wireless, gym, car rental, etc.).Philanthropic support with both local and national organizations.Fun culture with company‑wide contests and prizes.Equal Opportunity EmploymentCorpay is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees.
