Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Financial Accounting, the Staff Accountant will support core accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit preparation. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records and will provide cross-functional support within the Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post daily and month-end journal entries
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of financial and cash accounts
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and financial schedules
  • Reconcile cash accounts to bank statements
  • Update debt, depreciation, and fixed asset schedules and prepare monthly reports
  • Prepare lease reconciliations in compliance with GASB standards
  • Post Purchasing Card receipts and assist with financial agreements
  • Support audit preparation, including PBC materials
  • Conduct variance analysis under minimal supervision
  • Assist with tax compliance activities
  • Maintain organized and compliant financial documentation
  • Uphold confidentiality and data security standards
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and leadership
  • Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned
