Staff Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Type: Contract 3-6 months
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote

SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate with business partners to understand the projects and transactions being recorded
• Analyze transactions and balances to ensure that they are appropriately recorded in the general ledger
• Prepare and review routine recurring and non recurring journal entries
• Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close process
• Assist in the preparation of key internal reporting
• Prepare required documentation for financial audits and reviews
• Assist in maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley compliance
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 1-3 year’s experience in corporate accounting or equivalent public accounting experience
