Salary: $30 - $36 per hour
A bit about us:We are an established, locally rooted organization with several operating entities and a collaborative finance team supporting a complex, multi-business environment.
With significant activity flowing across our organizations, accuracy in the general ledger and balance sheet matters. As we navigate a busy year-end close and reporting cycle in Workday, we are adding contract accounting support to help the team stay on track.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, digging into financial information, and bringing structure and accuracy to the accounting process. You will work alongside experienced finance leaders who are available to provide guidance while giving you the independence to manage your work.
Why join us?- Immediate opportunity to make an impact during a busy year-end reconciliation cycle.
- Work directly with experienced Controllers, Senior Accountants, and finance leadership.
- Gain exposure to a multi-entity environment and intercompany accounting.
- Use your reconciliation expertise without being expected to lead a department.
- Workday Financials exposure is valuable but not required for strong reconciliation professionals.
- Hybrid flexibility for local hires; fully remote arrangements may be considered for candidates with meaningful Workday Financials experience.
- Potential to be considered for longer-term opportunities if business needs and fit align, although conversion is not planned or guaranteed.
Job DetailsWe are seeking one or more contract accounting professionals at roughly the Staff Accountant level to provide hands-on balance sheet reconciliation support.
The immediate priority is to work through reconciliations during year-end and the following months. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys digging into the details, can take ownership of a set of accounts, and knows when to raise an issue rather than letting it linger.
You will have direct access to experienced accounting leaders but will be trusted to manage assignments independently and keep the work moving.
What you'll be doing:
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying and following up on reconciling items.
- Support intercompany reconciliations across multiple legal entities or operating businesses.
- Work with the general ledger, supporting schedules, and financial statement information to validate balances.
- Help the accounting team work through year-end reconciliation priorities and outstanding items.
- Partner with Controllers and Senior Accountants for guidance, while managing assigned work independently.
- Use Workday financial information when applicable; learn the workflow if you have not used the financial module before.
- Research discrepancies, communicate findings, and follow outstanding items through resolution.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation and ensure reconciliation work is accurate and complete.
What we're looking for:
- Solid, hands-on balance sheet and general ledger reconciliation experience in a professional accounting environment.
- Experience supporting multiple entities, intercompany activity, or a business of meaningful size and complexity.
- Ability to investigate differences, document work clearly, and move assignments forward with limited supervision.
- Comfort partnering with a collaborative finance team and communicating questions or issues proactively.
- Workday Financials / Financial Management experience is a significant plus, not a requirement.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and remain organized in a deadline-driven accounting environment.
- Availability to begin quickly and support an assignment expected to run into February 2027.
