Title- Staff Accountant

Location- Reno, NV

Duration- Full time/ Direct hire

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This position will work closely with the accounting team to ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, AP, AR, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal financial reports.

• Analyze account variances and research discrepancies.

• Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.

• Maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation for financial entries.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate environment.

• Solid understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA candidate or actively pursuing a CPA license.

• Experience with month-end close automation tools.

• Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.
